About the Heat and Energy Converter
Temperature scales differ in both zero point and step size. Water freezes at 0 °C, 32 °F and 273.15 K; a change of 1 °C equals a change of 1 K or 1.8 °F.
Energy and power are often confused. Power (watts) is the rate of energy use; energy (watt-hours or joules) is power multiplied by time. A 2 kW heater running for 3 hours uses 6 kWh.
One kilowatt-hour equals 3.6 megajoules. Electricity bills use kWh, while physics and food labels more often use joules or kilojoules.
